I’m pretty sure that if you listened hard on Friday evening you would have heard the collective cheer that everyone in Ireland let out when it was announced that restrictions were yet again being lifted. And lets be honest here, the FOMO was very much real as it seemed that everyone on our Instagram feed were dressing up to go out and celebrate. However, this time around it feels very different to when the same announcement was made over the summer. When things began to open up for us in June 2021 the weather called for bare legs and fresh tans and our wardrobes really reflected this. We were more than ready to rock our shortest hemlines and highest heels in style. This time however saw the announcement being made that restrictions would be lifted the next day, giving us very little time to plan outfits, and now leaving us to come up with a whole new wardrobe of night out outfits for the colder weather that we know we’ll be expecting in the next few weeks (or months depending on whether or not the Irish Weather will be treating us well this year!)
One of our top tips this time of year is that you should absolutely never underestimate the power of a transitional dress. It seems that every year there's a few awkward weeks between seasons where you're feeling like it's too late to wear dark winter clothes but it's still to early to commit to florals and pastel colours. This dress was really made for these weeks! The higher neckline and long sleeves make it perfectly appropriate to wear in winter and early spring, while the bold colours and all over floral print are still perfect for wearing well into the Spring Summer months. What more could you need?
More of a midi dress girl? Don't think we've left you out! This style has been majorly popular in the past and we can really see it sticking around this year! Again, the high neck and midi length of this one make it suitable for the unpredictable weather right now while the smock style and flutter sleeves make for a super flattering style that covers the upper arms and skims over the stomach and mid section. If you're going for maximum comfort you can always pair with a leather jacket to add a touch of edge to this outfit.
The GTT Gals are never ones to shy away from an office debate, and today's blog might have caused a big one with one simple question: Are leathers an Autumn Winter must have or can they be worn all year long? One thing that we do know is that we'll definitely be rocking our leathers on nights out for the foreseeable! This is the ideal way to get dressed up without necessarily wearing a dress, anything that saves us the bother of tanning our legs is a definite yes in our book! We always love this style with a cami top for the perfect low effort last minute night out 'fit!
If you're looking for a "jeans and a nice top" kind of vibe, look no further! We've got you covered ;-) We may or may not be obsessed with the summery colours and abstract print of this top (we totally are) while the full length of the top as well as the longer sleeves will make for maximum comfort when you're waiting for a taxi at 2am! This is another one that can be worn well into the summer. Got to get that Cost Per Wear girls!
For any night out, our first go-to option is almost always a simple mini dress. This is truly such a versatile style that can be dressed up or dressed down and worn over and over again, this smock mini dress from Only Carmakoma is the perfect example! The 3/4 sleeves offer coverage while still showing off a little bit of skin while the smock style is always super flattering and skims over the stomach in a really natural way. If you want to add a little bit of shape or definition to this one you can do this really easy by dimply adding a belt!
Speaking of versatile clothing, it doesn't get better than a midi skirt! This is another one than can be dressed up with your favourite heels for girls night or dressed down with trainers for the ultimate weekend look. This is a definite must have for the next few months. How fab would it be paired with a bodysuit and boots to add a little bit of edge?
