The GTT offices almost always look the same around this time of year, with members of the team swapping days off and scrambling to book hotel deals for that last minute staycation. After this almost always comes a long awaited shopping spree (are you really going off on holidays if you don't have a whole new wardrobe?) but after years of this same routine, we pride ourselves in being almost professional level staycation goers and believe that all you really need in your suitcase are these key pieces!
Firstly, comes the traveling, and this is usually a lot more traumatic than we expect it to be. There's arguments over who's in charge of the music, arguments over whether the windows should be up or down, arguments over whether or not you're lost (spoiler: you're definitely lost) and somebody somehow always needs to stop to use the toilet. Yep, traveling to your staycation destination is a whole journey in itself, so you owe it to yourself to be comfortable, right? For this reason and this reason alone, our go-to outfit when traveling always seems to be leggings and a sweatshirt. After all, it doesn't get much more comfortable than this!
Looking to spend a day exploring your surroundings? We love a mini dress and trainers for this! Whether it's an exciting city break or a chill weekend spent by the sea, you never know when a photo op will come up (we love to see a brightly painted wall on our instagram feeds) and this style staple ensures that you're always camera ready! We don't know about this, but we're so ready to say goodbye to the days of our friend's taking candid pictures of us and having to make them promise that the photo will never see the light of day!
The true beauty of a day dress is that it can be dressed up so easily with a pair of heels for dinner or drinks, something that has saved many a fashion emergency as far as the GTT Team are concerned! We love a piece of clothing that can bring us from day to night with minimal effort and nothing does this better than a day dress! And the best thing about a simple nude pair like this style is that they can also be paired with jeans making it the ideal option to cover any last minute change in plans.
Jeans and a t-shirt are a classic for a reason, for the simple fact that they always seem to work! Whether you're planning on a shopping spree (is it even a city break if you don't use it as an opportunity to go shopping?), touring the city, or a trip to the cinema to get out of the rain for a little while (cheers, Irish weather!) this is one outfit that you know always looks great and feels comfortable. You can always rely on jeans and a t-shirt!
