As difficult as the pandemic has been, there have been so many positives that have come from it, from a newfound appreciation for family and friends, to a newfound appreciation for Friday night cocktails (absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that!) But one thing we’ve all found ourselves noticing has been our growing consciousness of the world around us and our carbon footprint. And it seems that we’re not the only ones, with so many brands taking steps to make their products more environmentally friendly. One of the ones we’ve been loving has been Only Life.
The only brand has been a firm favourite with not only customers but our staff as well, creating top quality clothes, from jeans and t-shirts to printed day dresses. Even better: their Only Life range has all of these reliable basics that you can never seem to go wrong with, but in a more sustainable way. This is done with sustainable fibres, either organic and grown without harmful chemicals which will reduce the environmental impact, recycled fibres which will give a new life to waste materials such as plastic bottles as well as save energy and natural resources, or innovative fibres which are made from processed wood and derived from sustainable forestry in an eco-friendly way. Here are some of our favourite styles from this brand right now:
Sweater dresses are a must for us every Autumn, but especially this year with oversized clothing being so on-trend. This colour block one from Only Life is made from sustainable cotton, which is one of the most environmentally friendly materials as it uses less energy, uses less greenhouse gasses, and avoids water waste due to better quality soil. Just pair with tights and you’ve got the ideal weekend outfit!
How perfect would this wrap top be with jeans for a night out? The looser material at the wrap neckline adds volume to the top of the body (perfect for our pear shaped girls!) while the more fitted material at the bottom of the top defines the waist and accentuates your natural shape. This one is made from 30% Polyester and 70% Modal Testel, which is a biodegradable and fully compostable material, meaning that they’re able to revert fully back to nature.
Looking for something dressier? We got you girl! This floral midi dress is super flattering and ideal for your next occasion! You all know how much we love a wrap dress, it’s almost like a cheat code to attaining that hourglass shape, with the tie detail drawing the eye to your waistline and adding more shape and definition to the body. The frill hem on this one is also super flattering on the legs and would be the perfect way to draw attention to a pair of statement heels! And the best part is that this dress is made of 20% of Nylon and 80% of Lenzing Ecovero Viscose, derived from sustainable wood and pulp and generating up to 50% lower emissions and water impact compared to generic viscose.
