Oh the struggle that comes with family occasions! It can be so difficult to find a dress that's not only on-trend but comfortable and perfectly appropriate for family occasions. A lot of the GTT Team are on hunt for occasion wear at the minute and after seeing one too many dresses with gaping cut outs, plunge necklines, and off the shoulder styles, we've had enough and have decided to take matters into our own hands. Whether it's for a Christening, Communion or a Family Wedding, we've got your dress!
Did you know how much we love wrap dresses? No? Girl, where have you been? This is one of our favourite styles when we're looking for something comfortable yet universally flattering. This style never fails to lift the bust and define the waist for that all envied hourglass shape, while the skirt tends to be looser fitting and skims over the stomach and hips in such a natural way, adding comfort and ease of movement at the same time. And best of all? This style just so happens to be ideal for breast feeding mums. Plus, can we talk about those bright florals? You're sure to stand out in those group pictures!
Pleated Skirts are having a major moment right now, and we've been loving it! This style never fails to add volume to the bottom of the body in such a subtle way, while the lightweight fabric skims over the hips to avoid making this area seem bigger than it is. In addition to this, the mesh overlay on the top of this dress adds extra coverage to the top of the body while still showing a little bit of skin as well as an element of interest due to the change in texture. The thick waistband here never fails to add shape and definition to the body and draws the eye to the waistline!
It doesn't get much more flattering than this lilac embroidered midi dress! This style of sleeves is one of our go-to styles if we're looking for something with a super flattering effect on the arm. The exaggerated style, as well at the chiffon-like fabric creates a visual distance between the arm and the sleeve of the dress for a slimming look, while the sleeve ends right near the most narrow part of the arm. Plus, how sweet is that button down effect paired with the feminine embroidered detail. To finish the dress off perfectly, the textured detail at the waistline is such a subtle way to draw attention to this area!
More of a mini dress kinda gal? Say no more! This square neckline shows off a little bit of skin, while offering more support than a v neckline, while puff sleeve adds extra volume to the top of the body to bring a little bit more shape and definition to the body, this is balanced out perfectly by the frill hem which does the same to the bottom half of the body. Simply pair with your favourite heels to really enhance the leg elongating effects of the shorter hemline!
We've been loving seeing a good old power suit this year and judging by your reaction to our Ivy Lane suits, you all have too! This style leaves us perfectly covered up while also being totally on-trend. The best part is that both the blazer and trousers can be mixed with other styles for a totally different feel. We've been loving pairing masculine blazers and feminine dresses recently and how beautiful would those trousers be with a lacy top? But nothing can beat the on-trend feel that this co-ord gives us. Talk about power dressing!
