Dresses To Start Off Your Spring Wardrobe

As I write this, we're experiencing very un-spring like weather, the threat of a red weather warning later this week (thanks a lot storm Dudley!) and we're back up to our old tricks of making endless cups of coffee just to keep our hands warm. The only think getting us through this week (aside from the leftover Valentines cupcakes that GTT'S very own Amy treated us to) is the daily conversations of "Ah girls I can't wait until it's bare leg weather" and "one of these days we'll be back outside eating ice cream for lunch". We're waiting hard on warmer weather, to the point that we're already planning out outfits!

You know we love a wrap dress, and we were SO excited to see this one coming in! The bold colour is the perfect way to turn heads while the simple print adds the perfect amount of detail in a really subtle way. The low neckline and tie detail at the waist really lifts the bust while the frill detail throughout the dress adds the perfect amount of volume. The frill hem adds a flattering detail that is super slimming on the legs.

This one is the perfect way to freshen up your spring wardobe! The sweetheart neckline creates the illusion of curves and shows off a little bit of skin. The puff sleeve is one of our favourite styles at it's super slimming on the arms while creating a bit more volume on the shoulders. The simple style of this one really skims over the hips in such a flattering way. And how cute would this look paired with trainers for the ideal weekend look?

Incoming: The sweetest day dress! A shirt dress is such a simple style and is our go-to for those days where we wake up late and have no idea what to wear.  This is such a versatile design that can be worn with tights and boots during the day or paired with heels for a night out! The tie detail at the waistline really draw the eye to the waist and the light colour, lightweight flowing fabric, and ditsy floral throughout really add a feminine feel to such a simple style that gives the dress a real vintage feel!

Got a spring occasion coming up? Girl, we got you! This is another uber flattering wrap dress that will again lift the bust and add definition to the waist. We're major fans of the dusty pink colour right now and the floral detail throughout adds a romantic, girly feel to the dress. The flowing sleeves are such a slimming style on the arms, while the tiered hem adds that little bit of volume to the bottom of the body.

Oh don't mind me, I'm just trying to get over this watercolour midi dress! The stunning colours and floral detail throughout makes it the ultimate dress for your spring wardrobe. Again, the sweetheart neckline and the ruching at the bust does a really great job of creating the illusion of curves while the puff sleeves adds volume to the shoulders and top of the body. The slit at the leg really breaks up the bottom of the dress and adds movement.

Is it just us or has anybody else's instagram feeds been dominated in abstract print in the past few months? We've been obsessed with it and knew that we needed to include some of our new favourite print in our Spring/Summer Ivy Lane collection! The smock style is a great go-to if you're not feeling 100% confident as it really skims over the stomach, hips and mid section, while the bold colours and playful print adds a fun feel to the dress to allow it to really be a statement piece.
