A Deep Dive Into One Of Our Favourite Brands!
The GTT Girls are many things at different times. We’re Netflix binge watchers every time a new season of You is released, we’re coffee addicts, we’re terrible influences on one another when it comes to trying to eat healthy, and for a few months this Summer we were Olivia Rodrigo superfans. But before all of this we’re fashion fanatics. Just like all of you we often struggle a little bit to find clothes that we love and feel comfortable, and when we do it’s cause for celebration. And when we find a brand that we fall in love with we simply can’t wait to show you all…and one of these brands just so happens to be Glamorous!
Glamorous has been going strong since 2007 and we’ve been stocking them and loving them for years! Fun fact: Glamorous just so happened to be one of the first brands that we were lucky enough to create our own designs with way back in early 2019 (shout out to the GTT Elise dress!) We’ve been huge lovers of their universally flattering cuts and fun prints, and so have all of you by the looks of it. But that’s not the only reason we love them! One of the main priorities of Glamorous is that their customer remains at the heart of everything they do, and that those customers are able to get stunning, bang on trend styles at an affordable price.
Another thing we love about the brand is their ethical practices and their dedication to the respect and fair treatment of their workers. They signed the Transparancy Pledge to show just how committed they are to being accountable in order to ensure their products meet ethical standards. Earlier this year they published a comprehensive list of their factories, outlining the location and percentage of male and female workers in each factory. In addition to this, the Kacoo Limited t/a Glamorous ethical trade policy outlines the steps that are taken by the brand to ensure that the treatment of their employees is fair and equal. Employees are provided with a written and clear calculation of their wages prior to beginning work with the brand and throughout their employment and in addition to this it is ensured that wages cover the cost of basic needs as well as discretionary spending. Measures are put in place to ensure that employees feel comfortable and confident speaking to their managers about any issues in the workplace without fear of being reprimanded.
Glamorous is always such a good go-to when it comes to simple, versatile styles like this black jacquared slip skirt. We’re big believers that you can never go wrong with a slip skirt, this universally flattering style is one of our current favourites. The looser, lightweight material follows the natural shape of the body in a super natural way that we just love. This one could be so easy to dress up with a bodysuit for a chic, streamlined look, or dressed down with a chunky knit jumper for a more relaxed feel. What more could you need?
We also love them for the affordable, high quality basics like these jeans. We’ve been living in our more relaxed fit jeans in the past few months and already know that these jeans from Glamorous will be the newest addition to our ever growing collection! The light wash, loose fit, ripped knees, and frayed hem of these jeans adds a laid back feel that I can’t wait to style with a graphic t-shirt to highlight this or a fitted bodysuit to add a more feminine feel to a more masculine style!
While they do launch the most amazing wardrobe staple, we also love that the brand also drops more on-trend pieces regularly, just like this patchwork mini dress! The patchwork trend began in the 60’s as a way to use leftover fabrics, and made a return last year as designers became more conscious of their carbon footprint and used this design as a way to reduce fabric waste. The main designers of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi were asked about their decision to use patchwork throughout their designs and credited the extra time spent with their children during lockdown last year, where their children were given scraps of extra material and a simple at-home sewing machine to occupy their time. For this reason, patchwork style is known as a way to inject fun and an element of playfulness into fashion, which is a common theme that we’ve been seeing throughout our latest Winter drop. The cut of this dress is reminiscent of Y2K fashion which is another trend that has been making a major comeback in the past few months. The sweetheart neckline of this one creates the illusion of curves, how fab would this one be with simple strappy heels for the perfect night out look?
Glamorous also just so happens to cater to our curve gals, and will use flattering cuts and fun prints to have you feeling as amazing as you look! The shirred effect of this one is always flattering as it pulls in the body, while the elasticated material makes for maximum comfort. Just like the above dress, this one features that ultra flattering sweetheart neckline to highlight your curves while also offering support to the body, leaving you feeling comfortable while still looking amazing!
This classic mini dress is a universally flattering cut that we’ve been loving for years, and we were so glad to see that it was included in their curve range! The deep v neck of this one elongates the body for a slimming effect and the tie detail at the waistline defines the waist by pulling it in at its most narrow point, all while the lightweight material of the skirt skims over the stomach, mid section, and hip area to hide any little lumps or bumps!
